Rylie was born on October 22, 2006 at 1:50 in the afternoon. She weighed 8lbs 7 oz and measured 20.4 inches long. Unlike her sisters before her, Rylie came into the world with no unusual excitement around her delivery. Steph woke me up around 4:30 in the morning to tell me that her water had broken. Becuase of how quickly Taylor was delivered we paniced a little and rushed. The closer we got to the hospital, the more we all relaxed, realizing that we were going to make there without any kind of traumatic episode.
Grandma and Grandpa Fletcher met us at the hospital to be with Logan and Taylor, who eventually went back to their house to try to pass ime while we waited for little Rylie to be born. They hated the wait and felt it was "taking forever." Meanwhile, Steph and I were relaxing in the room, reading, chatting, doing puzzle books, watching tv, etc.
I think it was just before one O'Clock that the doctor announced "It's time to have this baby!"
Steph pushed for around an hour before little Rylie was out. The poor slippery thing nearly fell from he doctors grip at first, but she caught her and gave her right to momma. I had the honor of cutting the cord (something I wasn't able to do with Logan or Taylor because of the "emergency" nature of both of their delivieries).
Rylie has been a wonderful baby and hasn't been much of a "fusser" until recently as she has become quite clingy to her mom, which is not unusual.
We feel so blessed to have 3 precious, beautiful, wonderful girls.
Thank you God!
